Who is The Tailor?

Hi, I'm Laura! I made my first official 'decorated' cake in 2009 for my daughter's birthday.  It was a huge success and I was being asked to create cakes for family and friends after that.  As time went on, I really got into it and the more I made, the more ideas and inspiration I got.  Fast forward 13 years and thousands of cakes later... I have been blessed with the help of my two daughters who have learned to bake and decorate cakes too.  We love what we do and thrive on bringing joy and happiness to people each day.

Victoria Sponge Cake


A light vanilla flavoured sponge cake enriched with vanilla buttercream and jam fillings. 

Vanilla Sponge Cake


A moorish vanilla flavoured sponge cake delicately filled with vanilla buttercream. Also available without filling if preferred.

Carrot Cake


A moist cake made with fresh grated carrots and a combination of fine West Indian spices. Available with or without vanilla cream filling and/or frosting.

Spiced Cake


Similar to the Jamaican Fruit Cake but made without fruits.

Chocolate Cake


A rich, moist, smooth chocolate cake available with chocolate ganache, chocolate buttercream or vanilla buttercream filling. Also available without filling if preferred.

Lemon Cake


A tangy sponge cake made with fresh unwaxed lemons. Available with or without tangy lemon filling.

Confetti Cake


A light Vanilla Sponge cake with colourful confetti sugar strands baked into the mixture. Available with or without creme fillings.

Coconut Cake


A light sponge cake enriched with sprinkles of desiccated coconut and mixed spices.  This cake is popular with a jam topping sprinkled with more desiccated coconut.

Red Velvet Cake


Red velvet cake is traditionally a smooth red-brown colored chocolate layer cake known for its buttery chocolaty flavour.  Usually layered with cream-cheese or vanilla buttercream fillings.

Jamaican Rum Cake 
(Black Cake)


Authentic Jamaican fruit cake also known as 'Black Cake'. Made with blended currents and sultanas which have been soaked in Wray & Nephew Overproof rum giving a rich strong Caribbean flavour.

Storage of our Cakes

Fruit Cakes should be wrapped in greaseproof paper and stored in a cake tin after your event and can last up to 4 weeks. All other cakes should be stored in an airtight container in a cool dark place and consumed within 2 days of the event. Cakes containing fresh cream should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within 24 hours.

Quality Guaranteed

We take hygiene very seriously. Our facilities and equipment are disinfected regularly to ensure the safest production of our cakes.  Extra care is taken to comply with Covid-19 safety requirements. Staff wash hands regularly and face masks are worn during the production of all cakes.    We have obtained the Food Safety Level 2 Award.

Delivery & Collection

We offer a delivery and set up service for all wedding cakes.  We also offer a delivery service for other cake orders which is subject to availability and is priced according to mileage.  Deliveries and collections are available by appointment only.
